Castor Design: Simple Truths

March 21 – 24, 2019

Castor Design: Science & Humanities Division creates objects grounded in basic scientific theories that govern our universe while referencing artistic principles that have been the hallmark of everything from Michelangelo’s stone carvings, to Dieter Rams’ industrial designs, to Donald Judd’s furniture. Motivated by the possibility of making visible what is invisible—the movement of particles through the air, the energy used to power a light-bulb, the largest known prime number—Castor honours the unseen energies that make life as we know it possible.
